Wisconsin guitarist Larry Theiss has been part of the Milwaukee music scene since the 1970's. In recent years, he has focused on Christmas classical guitar . Larry’s sophisticated arrangements of Christmas instrumental took extra time and dedication to achieve the results he desired. Larry took up the guitar in high school and continued on to earn a bachelor’s degree in classical guitar at Carroll College and the Milwaukee Conservatory of Music. Other styles of music also caught his interest over the years, including folk, rock, and Irish music. Besides performing, Larry has also been teaching music and directing church choirs since 1976. He has written and recorded religious music, including choir octavos and solo vocal selections. His religious CDs include Lord, We Are the People, and Praise and All Thanksgiving (currently being redone and available in about 9 months). He then applied a renewed interest in classical guitar to recording instrumental Christmas music. In 1998 he released the CD Christmas Presence, an all-instrumental recording. That was followed by Christmas in the Country in 2001. And then the latest to arrive on the scene was Christmastime in the City. After selling over 12,000 holiday CDs during these past 10 years, Larry has touched the hearts of many people.
